With no time to process all the christmas food we went to Barcelona at the very very beginning of the year. The 7th of january we were supposed to take part in a r&r woman festival at the best club in town: Apolo. We were sharing stage with two wonderfull girlbands based in Barcelona: the ROCK band Santa Rita (http://soundcloud.com/santa_rita) and the Marlenes, a new trashy girl band playing crazy primitive noisy raw sound, with a great cover of "bad reputation" (Joan Jett).
We got infinite food, hummus and tortilla were very very delicious and the night, that went untill the next day, was funny with the party divided between the backstage and the club room.
The gig was cool except for some technical problems with de drum pedal. It made me stop the show to be able to fix it. Yeah, these things always happen and always in kind of "important" gigs. I mean, every gig is important but when someone calls you to play in another country in a huge busy club, it will happen for sure. That's it!
A few days ago I was surprised and happy as I was chatting with a friend and he showed me a page of the magazine Ruta66, were a picture of us was published, just closed tu an article talking about the show.
The days in Barcelona went too fast of course, as the day after the show didn`t exist because of the hangover and the day after we were leaving. The other girls went to the coast and walked along the Barceloneta beach. The we all ate mexican food in La rosa del raval. Giant burritos for a empty stomach!
Usual problems with timing and loggage made us pay 100 euro extra for two of us, but we reach our beloved cold Berlin...
